2013-05-31- 009Volunteers at Meldrum’s Amenities group want more flower power people to help plant out this years flower tubs, displays and hanging baskets.

They want volunteers locally on June 11th and June 12th day or evening. Part or all.

Oldmeldrum has won the local Aberdeenshire best in bloom competition for the last 2 years and they want help to make it 3 in a row. To help call Andrew McCartney on 01651-873473

The Amenities group provide the town with hanging baskets and floral tubs and last year had mannequins in tire square to accompany the displays. They operate a small tractor with a watering bowser with a large polytunnel just outside the town. All the towns Christmas lights are also done by this wholly voluntary group.
