Police are continuing to appeal for information regarding the theft of a community funded defibrillator from The Square, Oldmeldrum, between Wednesday, July 6 and Thursday, July 7. Inspector Jamie Harrison of the Formartine Community Policing Team said: “This is a senseless crime that has resulted in vital life saving equipment being deprived from the community in Oldmeldrum.
“From working with the community I know how much time and effort was put into obtaining this crucial device. I want to assure that this crime is being robustly investigated with officers currently in the process of reviewing CCTV of the area.”
“At present I don’t know what the motive for this crime is but I want to emphasise that beyond anything, the most important thing here is to get this device back to help keep people safe. I will have officers on patrol around Oldmeldrum engaging with the public and I would urge parents to speak to their children and ask them if they know anything about the theft of the device.”
If you have any information call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
