Queen’s Green Canopy – Oldmeldrum

Queen’s Green Canopy – Oldmeldrum
As part of the activities to commemorate the Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II, and also to mark her passing, thousands of trees have been planted nationwide as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy project.
Oldmeldrum’s tree, a Cherry (Prunus), was planted today on ground alongside the cemetery just above the Pleasure Park.
The tree was planted by local resident and Scotland’s Head Gardener, Jim McColl, who was ably assisted by the Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire, Sandy Manson. Members of the Community Council and of Meldrum Amenities Improvement Group (MAIG) were also in attendance to lend a hand.
