It is with much regret that MAIG has made the decision to cancel the Switch On Ceremony of Oldmeldrum’s Christmas Lights in the square this year

In the light of the Covid-19 regulations it is clear that such a popular event with a large crowd in a relatively small area within the Square would be impossible to control from a social distancing point of view.

We are saddened and disappointed but feel that this is the correct thing to do at this time. Guidelines are guidelines and the safety of the public and community of Oldmeldrum is paramount. All being well, MAIG hopes to resume normal service in 2021!

However, MAIG will be setting up the main Christmas tree and lights in the Square from Sunday 29th Nov – 3rd Jan 2021. Although this will be a smaller display than usual MAIG hopes that it will bring some festive cheer during these anxious times.
