MELDRUM BEER – THE BREWERY IN OLDMELDRUM
Old Meldrum brewery labels. An India Pale Ale by McEwans and R.M. Cruickshank of Urquhart Road. Does anyone know of a person who remembers the beer and (possibly) tried it.

In the 1950’s it was bottled in a building in next door to the Chemist garden opposite the fire stationed the bakery near the butcher shop operated by Tam Pauline the Aberdeen bus stop was located nearby on the same side of the road.Now known as the Creative Boutique. Robert M Cruickshank owned and operated a number of business in the township ‘ie’ STORE URQUHART ROAD.HOUSE AND GARDEN known as “MATLOCK HOUSE” 9 KING STREET. also PETROL PUMP URQUHART ROAD. and others from 1920 through to the 1950’s
This is very helpful. Was it just bottling you can remember or was it still brewing until the early sixties?
