The Oldmeldrum, Bourtie & Daviot Community Council have been informed that the Fyvie Oldmeldrum medical practice will be taken over by the Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership (AHSCP) following the end of the current contract on 17th April. Below is an extract from the letter from AHSCP informing us of this decision.

“The partners of Fyvie Oldmeldrum Medical Group have made the very difficult decision to hand back their contract to NHS Grampian due to ongoing difficulties with recruiting clinical staff.  The partners will continue to deliver general medical services until their contract concludes on 17th April 2023. This will mean that there will be little or no change to how patients access care for the foreseeable future.

Whilst the contract to provide General Medical Services is with NHS Grampian it will be the Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership that will be responsible for ensuring the continued delivery of Primary Care Services to the Fyvie Oldmeldrum population. The Partnership will take over running of the Practice as we have had to do in other parts of Aberdeenshire.”

There will be no change to the way that patients access their practice and people do not need to take any action.
