The community council walked the boundary of the Oldmeldrum conservation area last Tuesday. We were accompanied by Sean Norman from the council planning department. Sean is working on revising the boundary and also implementing some further regulations within the boundary. This is part of a wider consultation on conservation areas throughout Aberdeenshire. Some areas within the boundary are possibly not in keeping with the conservation area and may be removed. Other areas presently outwith may be included. A map is attached showing possible changes. The conservation area does not prevent development but tries to ensure it is in keeping with the rest of the area. Property adjacent to but not actually in the conservation area is also generally subject to similar conditions.
