Beautiful Meldrum – you can help.
Meldrum Amenities and Improvement Group (MAIG) are planning a couple of big tidy ups around the town. Weeding the streets Tuesday 23rd July meeting outside the Meldrum Arms at pm to start removing the weeds from Medrum's streets. If you have any please bring sweeping brushes, shovels, hoes or anything suitable for cutting/pulling out weeds. Hi viz jackets if you have any MAIG will provide bags for weeds. Litter pick Saturday 3rd August meeting outside the Meadows Veterinary center at am Bring gloves, suitable clothing MAIG will supply litter pickers & bin bags If you have a hi viz please bring them but we should have Beautiful Scotland Tabards again. Community Litter Pick
Meldrum Amenities Improvement Group, MAIG, are organising a Community Litter Pick on Saturday 3rd August 0930 am. Meet on MELDRUM MEG WAY beside the Meadows Veterinary Centre. This is an opportunity to remove litter from the town prior to the Beautiful Scotland judging the following week. Bring the family and have some fun making Oldmeldrum the most Beautiful Town in Scotland!

WOOD RECYCLABILITY COULD USE YOUR HELP Wood RecyclAbility offers adults with a wide range of abilities the chance to experience a real workplace setting by making recycled wood products at our training centre and wood recycling site at Cloisterseat Croft in Pitmedden. Set up in 1997, Wood RecyclAbility is social enterprise providing practical work experience for people with additional support needs through working with waste wood. We support up to 40 trainees each day in a new purpose-built workshop, yard and 5 acres of agricultural land. Beautiful Scotland Competition
We (MAIG) have decided to enter Oldmeldrum into this year's Beautiful Scotland Competition. This is run by Keep Scotland Beautiful, in conjunction with the Royal Horticultural Society and is the first stage in gaining possible entry of the UK wide Britain in Bloom competition. The entries are to be based round three pillars – Horticultural achievement, Environmental responsibility and Community participation. Our entry will include a portfolio of Oldmeldrum, a short presentation and a tour around some of the places of interest within our town, including our summer floral display. TALES OF THE HERB GARDEN – 6 JULY – PITMEDDEN GREAT GARDEN
Pitmedden Garden has a wonderful layout in the style of Versailles. It also has a collection of rare apples in its orchard. But there is more to this important heritage garden. Come and learn about its herb garden and gain a knowledge of layout and practice. Saturday 6 July 2019.
