On 15th December last year the management of the Oldmeldrum Town hall transferred from Aberdeenshire Council to Making Meldrum Better Community Interest Company (MMB). MMB formed in September 2006 and has been running the Meldrum Cafe since it opened in April 2007. Plans for the town hall include the installation of a lift, toilets and a meeting room upstairs and redecoration throughout. This follows two years negotiation for funding. The project is part financed by the Scottish Government and the European Community through its Rural Aberdeenshire Leader 2007-13 programme. is a new website owned and run by the Meldrum Bourtie & Daviot Community Council. The purpose of the website is to give an online presence for the Community Council and also to serve as a source of information for Oldmeldrum. On Wednesday 29th September Morris' Hotel hosted the third annual Friends of Westbank pub quiz. 15 teams took part and helped raise £335 for the local charity, the most amount of money raised through this avenue yet. The Friends of Westbank would like to thank Robin for his ongoing support and also the local community for making the residents stay at Westbank more enjoyable through their kind support of this worthy cause. Raising awareness about dementia and living well with dementia. Aberdeenshire Council in partnership with NHS Grampian and Alzheimer Scotland are running a Memory Fayre on Wednesday 29th September at Inverurie Town Hall. The event runs from 10am until 5pm with free refreshments.
