The Shop, called CREATIVE BOUTIQUE is stuffed full all things in the craze for paper and crafts. Open 10am till 4pm daily over 7 days a week, is already beginning to pull in people from miles around. Not just for the shop but Katie organises classes and workshops. HARRISON Regretfully, Shirley Harrison, aged 65, late of New Craig Farm Oldmeldrum and of Cattie Knowes, Daviot, beloved daughter of John Hoof and the late Stevie Hoof, died on Friday, July 27, 2012. Funeral service in Daviot Parish Church, on Monday, August 6, at 12 noon, followed by a committal service at Aberdeen Crematorium, East Chapel on Tuesday, August 7, at , to which all friends are respectfully invited. CELEBRATED Scottish musicians Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain will be showing off their mercurial talents in Oldmeldrum in September 2012. The duo will appear at Oldmeldrum Academy on Saturday 15 September in a concert organised by the Meldrum Academy Parent Council as part of the school’s 10th Anniversary celebrations. The 40th Aberdeen International Youth Festival, like previous years have traditionally had concert opportunities in Aberdeenshire for the visiting music groups. The Melvin Hall at Tarves, Nr Oldmeldrum will be hosting the Tsukuba West Symphonia from Japan. Wednesday August 1st. Aberdeenshire Environmental Forum FREE visit to small scale Hydro scheme and Biomass Project on Haddo Estate, Methlick On Wednesday 18 July 2012, Aberdeenshire Environmental Forum are organising a visit to the small scale Hydro Scheme and Biomass Boiler project in operation at Haddo Estate. The visit is open to anyone interested in seeing and learning more about these renewable energy schemes, staff from Haddo Estate have kindly agree to lead, and provide information during, the visit. The Hydro Scheme produces up to 16 kilowatts of power and utilising an Archimedean Screw generator. The biomass project utilises wood chips from timber grown on Haddo Estate and provides heating and hot water for 22 affordable houses and, very shortly, the local primary…
AN accident involving three cars occurred near Inverurie last week causing tailbacks on the B9170 Oldmeldrum to Inverurie Road. All three cars careered off the road between Uryside Farm and the junction leading to Lethenty at about last Thursday (July 5).
