Posting this on behalf of Mr James Ritchie, Sarawak, Borneo. I'm a 70 year old retired journalist living in Sarawak Borneo. I'm trying to trace my Scottish uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews with a view of writing my memoir. Can you post my family story in your newsletter? Background: My grandfather Alexander Hector Ritchie was born in 1878. His father William owned 148 acres of land at Bucksburn Farmhouse. In 1891 the family moved to Oldmeldrum, 14 miles north of Aberdeenshire, (newhills is 4 miles north of Aberdeen). At that time William was 48 and wife Margaret, 38. Successful funding application for MAIG

Meldrum Amenities Improvement Group (MAIG) has been successful with their application seeking funding to replace their 17 year old diesel tractor with an eco friendly Electric Utility vehicle. Through the Vattenfall Unlock Your Future a Ā£3mn community benefit scheme, designed with the community, will see an investment of Ā£150,000 a year throughout the operational life of the wind farm. MAIG was one of eleven Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire successful community recipients. The group has been awarded Ā£15,000. Andrew McCartney, group Administrator, said that this award will endorse a significant contribution towards the total cost of our replacement project and, once fulfilled, MAIG will be playing their part in assisting Aberdeenshire Councilā€™s Sustainability Charter Action Programme to be carbon neutral in the…
